Incomplete as of 10/2024 Smooth Dirt base This is a prototype of an interactive virtual museum I'm building in Tower Unite. Infocom were - for a time - the biggest name in adventure gaming. Sure, all they had going for them was the written word... but oh, what words they wrote. Zork. Planetfall. Trinity. The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy. The list goes on and on. The concept behind the museum is to celebrate the games *and* the unique packaging that made Infocom special. Who needs graphics when the games came packed to the gills with odd little knick-knacks (called "feelies.") Postcards from other planets, mysterious glowing stones, and many an angry letter from a jealous lover or belligerent sorcerer. To that end, not only will Infocom's text adventure games be fully playable through in-world Libretro terminals, but the all-important "feelies" originally packaged with that game will appear on the desk next to you, aiding your gameplay. (I've toyed around with the idea of actually changing the space around the terminal to match gameplay as well.) But how do you get the games, you may ask? Well, each one of Infocom's classic games will have its own little exhibit within the museum space. Each exhibit contains a (relatively easy) puzzle based on the game in question. Figure it out, and a familiar Infocom gamebox appears, ready for you to take it over to the terminal and give it a try. This is 100% unauthorized, and I'm not even sure I'm ever going to finish it. However, it's a neat idea and *someone* should do this, right?
